Paul’s Letter to the Colossians
“A Life Worthy of the Lord”
January 17, 2021
On Sunday, we begin a worship series on Paul’s letter to the Colossians. We will hear Paul point them again and again to the supremacy of Christ in all things and the eternal blessing of being in Him. In times of uncertainty and change, the truth of our identity in Christ is a source of great comfort, peace, and strength.
In the opening verses, Paul gives thanks for the faith of the Church in Colossae. He informs them that he prays that God would fill them so that they “may live a life worthy of the Lord.” What did he mean by that? What does it mean for us today?
Worship will be live stream at 9:30 AM. Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ to download the handout, and to link to the live stream itself. We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: https://www.facebook.com/sjlcnapa

Youth ministry the past number of months has looked vastly different than I or anybody ever expected. Even still, God has shown His goodness in many ways throughout the challenging times. Zoom has become a part of our daily lives and given us the opportunity to gather together for fellowship, learning, and fun. The Youth Ministry at St. John’s will continue to meet virtually for the foreseeable future as we aim to do our part in keeping people healthy. If you would like any information about a specific ministry or how to get connected please contact Kevin Mathison.
Surge: We will have Surge events on the 2nd, 9th, & 23rd from 6-7pm.

What happened in the garden of Eden still impacts us today, as we are all born sinful people, but how did this happen?
What does it mean for God to love us despite our brokenness?
And what did He do because He loves us so much?
