Who We Are
St. John’s Lutheran Church has been serving the Napa community since 1907. Our mission is “Leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, His followers, and His world.” This is how we express that in our Vision Statement.
What We Believe
We, the people of St. John’s Lutheran Church, believe in the God of the Bible. This Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – loves, protects, and preserves us. We believe that God sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins on the Cross and be raised from the dead out of His great love for us.
Membership
Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, His followers and His world. Membership at St. John’s is about pursuing these growing relationships, and allowing ourselves to be led by Christ through the ministry of this congregation.
History
The city of Napa has changed considerably from the quiet little town that it was in 1907, when St. John’s Lutheran was founded. St. John’s has changed substantially in that time as well, from a fledgling mission church to the congregation of today.

Hi!
I am researching my family history. My great-great-grandfather was William F Munzenmayer. He lived from 1842 to around 1920 when he disappeared. He originally settled in Ohio, moved to Texas and lived in Williamson County before moving and settling in Winters sometimes in 1900. I was doing a search on Otto Tuerk and found a picture of a cornerstone that is I think located at St. John’s Lutheran Church or Cemetery. On the cornerstone is the date 1904-1929 along with Otto Tuerk, William Minzenmayer, and several other men. I was wondering is there is anyone who could tell me about this cornerstone, what the dates mean and the significance of the cornerstone. My great-great-grandfather had a son named William Minzenmayer, Jr. I am not sure which one is the one one listed on the stone. if you are unable to assist me with this can you suggest who I might email or even call for information. I would appreciate any information on his matter.
thanks for taking the time to help me with my quest.
