As We Gather
The dramatic conversion of Saul illustrates that no one is ever outside the scope of God’s love – no matter who they are or what they have done. But it is not just that God’s forgiveness and grace are for all no matter what. It is also within God’s heart to call and equip all to partake in His saving mission for the World. The brutal destroyer of the Church becomes the chosen instrument of its expansion. What does this mean for you and me in our calling?
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 9:30 AM. Please CLICK HERE to download the link to the live-stream itself.
We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: CLICK HERE .
Mission India
The designated offerings for Mission India have totaled over $44,000. This is a significant increase from last year. In light of that, this year we will be partnering with Mission India to support financially and through prayer the following ministries:
- 2 Literacy trainers (Up from 1 this year. Total of 300 students in 10 classes)
- 2 Year Long Children’s Bible Club facilitators (Up from 1 this year. Total of 400 children in 10 clubs)
- 10 church planters. (Up from 8 this year)
Thanks be to God for the opportunity join Jesus on His Mission in this way!
Confirmation Sunday
Confirmation will be on May 8 during the 9:30 service. As part of the service, the confirmands will be reading their prepared faith statements as confessions of their faith. They will also be committing their lives to followings Jesus and will be blessed in that confession and commitment. Please keep our confirmands in your prayers as they prepare for this day.
You Are Invited to SJLS Chapel on May 11
You are invited to join the St. John’s students for chapel on Wednesday, May 11, at 8:40 in the morning. For many years, Mrs. Gewirz’s 3rd grade class sponsored students who attend the Garuna Christian (Lutheran) Schools in Cambodia, and they are encouraging everyone at St. John’s to join in, too! The students are called “Garuna Kids”. They live in a country where 98% are Buddhist. The Gospel message is new to them, and you are helping them to hear this Good News. Did you know that the word “Garuna” means grace?
