A Celebration of Confirmation
“Acknowledge Me Before Others”
May 8, 2022
Please CLICK HERE to download the service notes.
As We Gather
Jesus said, “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges Me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God (Luke 12:8).” Every day, each of us is called upon to publicly acknowledge Jesus by what we say and what we do. Today we rejoice as four young people publicly acknowledge Jesus, and are confirmed and blessed in their faith. May God bless our confirmands in their confession and bless each of us in the confession of our lives.
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 9:30 AM. Please CLICK HERE to download the link to the live-stream itself.
We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: CLICK HERE .
Confirmation Sunday, May 8th
As part of the service, the confirmands will be reading their prepared faith statements as confessions of their faith. They will also be committing their lives to followings Jesus and will be blessed in that confession and commitment. Please keep our confirmands in your prayers as they prepare for this day.
You Are Invited to SJLS Chapel on May 11
You are invited to join the St. John’s students for chapel on Wednesday, May 11, at 8:40 in the morning. For many years, Mrs. Gewirz’s 3rd grade class sponsored students who attend the Garuna Christian (Lutheran) Schools in Cambodia, and they are encouraging everyone at St. John’s to join in, too! The students are called “Garuna Kids”. They live in a country where 98% are Buddhist. The Gospel message is new to them, and you are helping them to hear this Good News. Did you know that the word “Garuna” means grace?
