Hebrews: Jesus is Better
“A Better Life”

As We Gather
There are many forces around us and within us that would pull us away from actively following our Savior. But we have heard throughout this series all the ways in which Jesus is better than any other alternative. The writer pulls all of this together in a call to persevere in faithfulness in every circumstance.
This is an appropriate theme as today we also observe Reformation Sunday. The celebration of Reformation is a celebration of the Gospel and a call to persevere in the faith.
On Sunday, we bring to a conclusion the first part of our series on the letter to the Hebrews, “Jesus is Better.” We will continue this series next summer as we look at chapters 11-13.
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 9:30 AM. Please CLICK HERE to download the link to the live-stream itself.
We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: CLICK HERE .
We celebrate Holy Communion at this service.
Sunday Bible Classes
Foundations: Basic Christian Teachings
Pastor Mike is leading a nine-session overview of the basic teachings of the Christian Faith on Sundays at 11:00 AM in Room 10. This class is an opportunity to grow in understanding what it means to follow Jesus, and to learn about what it means to be part of our faith community.
This week’s session is the second of several lessons on living the Christian life. This week we focus on the Ten Commandments and what they mean today as we seek to follow Jesus.

Romans
Joel Wahlers is leading a study of the book of Romans on Sundays at 11:00 in Room 8. Paul’s letter to the Romans is considered by many to be one of the most important books ever written on the Christian faith. Writing to Christians, the apostle Paul defines the Gospel, explores its depths, and discusses its significance and implications for the Christian life. This class makes use of Right Now Video teaching by J.D. Greear. The class meets on Sundays at 11:00 AM in Room 8.
Women’s Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study will next meet on November 1st at 10:00 AM in Room 10. All are invited! The study will be using “Christ Esteem” by Don Matzat.
