Who is in Charge Here?
We struggle when we feel that we have little control over what’s happening in our lives. We have had lots of opportunity to feel that way: Pandemic, inflation, war, drought. And added on top of these are the personal hardships and struggles that come our way, including illness and death. When Jesus was arrested, the chief priests and Judas thought they were in control of what was happening. In the confusion Peter tried to take control with a sword leaving a man named Malchus injured. But the truth is that Jesus was in complete control. And the truth for us today is that Jesus is still in control no matter how much it may seem otherwise. May God grant us His Holy Spirit to trust in Him in all circumstances.
