The New Heaven and the New Earth

Christian hope is not wishful thinking. It is not merely optimism, or a wish for a brighter tomorrow. Christian Hope is the confidence that despite the troubles of today, God is at work for our good and His glory. And at the end of the age, all will be redeemed and restored in the Resurrection and New Creation. Christian Hope is the confidence that the pains and losses of this life do not have the last word. It is the conviction that because Christ is risen, we too will be raised, all this in broken will be healed, and all the is evil will be undone. The book of Revelation contains powerful visions of this hope. This word of God was given to a church facing hardship, opposition and persecution. But it held out this message: God wins, therefore we have hope. Our worship series this Easter season focuses on four images from the book of Revelation. These four depictions of Christian Hope are given to us to direct our thoughts and hearts to the strength, comfort and peace that are ours through our victorious Lord Jesus.
