Forgiven and Forgiving
This summer, we are focusing on the encouraging words from Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians in our worship series “Strength in our Weakness.” Today we consider Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 2:5-11. He calls for the congregation to forgive the one who has caused offense, for the sake of the offender and for the congregation. Sin and the resulting hard feelings weaken relationships. Forgiveness brings strength and unity. Through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ we are called to live a forgiving life.

COVID has been exhausting on many levels. Even as it appears that in some ways that we are coming out of the pandemic, in many ways the disruption is far from over. So many changes, upheavals, and canceled plans have left many exhausted, discouraged, and stressed – sometimes beyond what we even realize. We need strength. We need encouragement. God provides this in abundance through His grace. This summer, we will be focus on encouraging words from Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians in our worship series “Strength in our Weakness.”
