David and Absalom: Sin's Consequences
This sermon focuses on the sad story of David’s son Absalom trying to take the throne from his father. This didn’t happen overnight. Years of poor decisions, bad behavior, neglect, and plotting were some of the causes of this. Sin has consequences. We live in a moral universe ruled by a holy God. Galatians 6:7 says, "God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap." Today you're harvesting what you planted yesterday, and today you're planting what you'll harvest tomorrow. Galatians 6:8 reminds us of the importance of sowing the right seed, “whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Sermon preached on September 27
