Streaming Worship for May 17: The Unexpected Call of Gideon
We continue our worship series: “Well, That Was Unexpected!” This Sunday we consider God’s unexpected call of Gideon. God called Gideon to lead His people against their Midianite oppressors. This was certainly unexpected since Gideon considered himself as the least in a family from the weakest clan in the tribe of Manasseh. But God called him and equipped him – but in most unusual and unexpected ways. What does the story of Gideon say to us as we seek to follow Christ in these unexpected times?
Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/) for information regarding the services and to link to the live stream itself. For all our services, we encourage you to download the worship handout prior to the service. The handout contains the words to the hymns and songs, as well as the readings, and the other components of the service. The handout also describes how to worship the Lord with your offering.

School Chapel Service
We have changed the time for the school chapel services to Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Please go to the St. John’s streaming page to connect: https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ Next week’s chapel will feature songs by Bob Hauch. On May 27th, it will have been 10 years since teacher Bob Hauch went to be with Jesus. We will be remembering him, his faith, and his legacy of following Jesus.
Wednesday Night Worship for May 20
We continue our walk through the Gospel of Matthew. Next week we look at Matthew 2:13-23 with our theme: “A Clash of Kings, Part 2.” The conflict with King Herod not only foreshadows future persecution for Jesus and His followers; it also gives us a picture of the need for our Savior.
