As We Gather
May the words of my mouth, and the meditations of our hearts be pleasing in Your sight, oh Lord, our rock and our redeemer. Amen.
One of the first things we turn to for help are the people around us, and oftentimes those people are our family. I know for me it is my dad who I ask help from a lot of the time. I didn’t ask for his help just once or twice but many times and still ask for his help. When I was 5, I would often come up to him when I had questions that were way too large for life, like how does Superman fly, or why doesn’t Luke just use the force to stop Vader from hitting him with those boxes. At age 10, the questions were more school related, focusing more on understanding math and science such as complex word problems about John needing 35 watermelons but has to give Greg 4 apples, or science problems like “what are the differences in the colors of a flame?” At age 15, my questions turned more towards activities like “can you pick me up at 6?” and “can I hang out with my friends this weekend?” At age 20, however, things took a turn and became more personal such as “how did you meet mom?” and “what was Great-Grandpa George like?” The point I am trying to make is I came to my dad with a lot of questions or things to talk about, and he always answered or responded to them.
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 9:30 AM. Please CLICK HERE to download the link to the live-stream itself.
