Do Not Be Afraid
As the world reels from an unprecedented global pandemic, we are also struggling with an epidemic of fear: Fears for our health and the health of our loved ones. Fears for our finances. Fears for our community, nation and world. Fears for our future.
The Lord has a word for us, and it’s a message repeated 365 times in the Bible: “Do Not Be Afraid.” He calls us to find comfort, peace and hope in Him. In times of uncertainty and fear, we trust in the One whose love is certain and whose presence and promises overcomes all fear. But what does that mean? How do we find peace and hope and rest in Christ in such restless times?
This is the theme for worship this Sunday. Join us for Live Stream Home Based Worship this Sunday at 9:30 AM. (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/)
Supporting One Another
As a congregation, we want to come together as a family to support each other during this time. You can access the form that will allow us to do that here: https://form.jotform.com/200846381370049
This form will be the system we use to assess needs and resources during this time. Please indicate what resources you have to share as well as needs you are aware of – both personally or in the community. Our goal is to start matching up potential needs with potential offers of support in an organized and confidential manner. We will be handling all responses to the best of our ability and wish to be a blessing to others during this time.
Download the Worship Notes for Worship
Our Live Stream worship services also involve downloadable worship notes. The notes contain the readings, parts of the service spoken together, words to the songs and hymns we will be singing, as well as discussion questions and directions for making your offering. Please download the worship notes here: https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/

Worship on Wednesday April 1
We will be having Live Stream worship next Wednesday, April 1. This was supposed to be the date for the Passover Seder. That event, of course, has been canceled. Our worship that evening will still focus on Passover. We will look at the Passover and its connection to the cross of Christ and to the Lord’s Supper.
At the end of this service, we will be looking at our plans to celebrate a Live Stream Home Based communion service on Maundy Thursday, April 9.
