As We Gather
On Sunday, we mark the 500th anniversary of the start of the Reformation. On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther posted a list of 95 topics for debate. Little did he know that his posting of that list would start a movement centered that would sweep across Europe and being a new era in Christianity, centered on the Gospel and Scripture. The Reformers built their movement on the truth that salvation is by “Grace Alone,” received by “Faith Alone,” accomplished by “Christ Alone,” as proclaimed by “Scripture Alone.”
But what does that mean for us today? What does it mean for us to be a Church of the Reformation? How is God calling us to be a reforming church, proclaiming Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, and Scripture Alone?
