This Week’s Memory Verse
So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. ~Galatians 3:26-27
As We Gather
“Behold the man!” was Pontius Pilate’s short, yet most profound, sermon. Our goal this Lent is to do just that, behold Jesus, God in human flesh, Jesus. Each time together, we are meditating on and proclaiming His real, bodily suffering and death as well as His physical resurrection. He knew all that real bodies experience; He suffered, wept, bled, ate, and hoped.
To say that God and man are one in Jesus is not to say that Jesus has always been a fully grown man. We know that, of course, as we celebrate His birth at Christmas. But His human life didn’t begin at His birth. It began a full nine months earlier, when the eternal Second Person of the Trinity, whom time and space cannot contain, united Himself to a single human zygote cell. At that moment, Mary became a mother and God became man.
And now, as He hangs dying on the cross, the prophecy Simeon gave to Mary, that a sword would pierce her own soul as well, is being fulfilled. And in this hour of His suffering and her grief, He commends His mother into the care of His beloved disciple. He cares for her who has cared for Him.

One Service on Confirmation Sunday, April 28th… We will join together at 9:30 AM for a combined service as we celebrate Confirmation Sunday. Eight young people will be confessing their faith, committing their lives, and being blessed for their walk with Christ. This will be a Communion service.
Wednesday Lent Soup Supper at 6:00 pm in the parish hall. All are invited!
Wednesday Lent Service – “Do Not Judge:” We live in a very judgmental world, so Jesus’ advice not to judge sounds radical to our modern ears. When we leave all judgment up to God, we free ourselves to look at one another through fresh and forgiving eyes.
