This Week’s Memory Verse
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” ~Matthew 6:33
This Sunday: Last fall we journeyed through the book of Exodus, walking with the people of God as they were delivered from slavery in Egypt. This summer we will pick up the story of God’s deliverance of His people and continue their trek through the wilderness – both physical and spiritual – as He leads them at last across the Jordan to the Promised Land.
Today we focus on Moses’ disobedience. In his anger at the people, he disobeyed God when he struck the rock to bring forth water. God is a God of grace, but this does not negate the call to obedience. Rather, it serves as the foundation for faithful following.
