This Week’s Memory Verse
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in My name. ~John 15:16
- This Sunday: Our Easter celebration continues as we live in the grace and power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The risen Lord is a life changer. We see that in the lives of the first followers and in our lives as well. Not only were lives changed, but often names were changed as well. Nicknames were given to reflect the changed life. In today’s first reading from Acts, Joseph was called Barnabas which means son of encouragement. The message of the resurrection changed his life and he encouraged others through his support and generosity. The message of the resurrection continues to give grace and power to change us.
