The First Christmas Carol
What is the first Christmas Carol? The song the angels sang to the Shepherd after they announced the birth of the Savior. Scripture records just a brief text: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14). But this brief statement proclaims the true meaning of the event we celebrate today. Because of the birth of Christ, there is glory for God in heaven, and there is peace on earth. Today we unpack those words, the first Christmas Carol.
