Unsaintly Saints
Today we celebrate all the saints of the Lord. We especially give thanks to the Lord for those who have completed their earthly lives and are now in the presence of God awaiting the resurrection. But the bible uses the word “saints” more broadly. It term refers not to the super-spiritual or heroically righteous, but rather to all who trust in Jesus as Savior from sin. What does it mean for our lives that we are called “saints” by grace through faith?
