Laborers for Christ
In today’s reading from Colossians the Apostle Paul describes how hard he has labored to proclaim the “Word of God in its fullness.” His goal in working so hard for the Colossians is so that “they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding.” Paul recognizes he is only able to do this because of “all the energy Christ so powerfully works” in him. We are also called to be laborers in Christ’s kingdom. How hard are we working to encourage and unite one another? Are we fully relying on the energy of Christ to do this? God’s words through Paul remind us the hard labor of kingdom work is worth it.
