Who You Say I Am
We frequently hear that in order to find out who we really are, our true identity, we need to look deeply within ourselves. True fulfillment in life comes from living out of what we find on this inward journey. But is this truth? God’s truth? God reveals in His Word that our true identity is founded in Christ. We are who He says we are. Our purpose is what He has revealed. Our calling is what comes from Him and leads back to Him. Today we commemorate the Baptism of our Lord and we remember and commemorate our own baptisms, in which God gave us an identity in Him, along with a name and a kingdom. What does it mean to live in this identity?
