This Week’s Memory Verse
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. ~Deuteronomy 6:4
This Sunday: We continue our worship series on the book of Exodus: “Our Deliverer.” The people of Israel, enslaved and oppressed in Egypt, needed a deliverer to come and save them. We are in need of a deliverer today as well. Thanks be to God that we have deliverance in Jesus Christ, our Savior. As we study the story of Moses and the Israelites, we will be reminded of our deliver, Jesus Christ, and the call to follow where He leads us.
The final plague is the means of the Israelite’s deliverance. All those whose doors were marked by the blood of the Passover lamb were spared this final plague. For the lamb was slain in their place. Death would not touch that house; instead those who dwelt there would be delivered into freedom and set on a course to the promised land. Jesus is the Lamb of God and by His blood we are delivered. Is the blood of the Lamb on your door? What does that mean for life today?
