This Week’s Memory Verse
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. ~1 Corinthians 4:2
As We Gather
Paul brings the first four chapters of 1 Corinthians to a conclusion regarding the Corinthians’ desire to follow human wisdom rather than the wisdom of the cross. They were “puffed up” and believed they had already reach full spiritual maturity. They acted like they were kings and Paul refers to himself as the scum of the earth. Paul encourages them to stop imitating the world and to imitate him because he imitates Christ. What about us? Who do we imitate?
Old Testament Leviticus 19:1-2
Psalm: Psalm 15
Epistle 1 Corinthians 4:6-21
Gospel John 13:1-17

Worship in the Faith Chapel . . . We will be worshiping in the Faith Chapel on July 22nd. Services will be at the regular times.
- Stephen Ministry – Compassion: Deeply sharing the suffering of another, together with the inclination to give aid and support…As we look at Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection, we observe the ultimate example of compassion. He now calls us to follow His example and to be deeply concerned for one another. Stephen Ministry is a ministry filled with compassion. It provides compassionate Christians with a place where they can use those gifts in ministry as a Stephen Minister. It also provides a haven where those in need of compassion can receive it in a confidential relationship with a Stephen Minister. Training for our first Stephen Ministers begins in August. For more information about Stephen Ministry contact Pam Barker, Penni Cremen, or Pastor Mark.

BECAUSE WE LIVE IN A COUNTRY
WITH A GOVERNMENT THAT
ALLOWS US TO SAY, “ONE NATION
UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH
LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL,”
WE CAN WORSHIP AND SERVE
JESUS FREELY
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. ~1Timothy 2:1-2

I Love reading your Newsletters! I love that God has provided a place for Kevin to serve!! I pray he is a blessing to St. John’s. I will give Kevin his time to serve without his mom, but each time I read of a need at St. John’s, I think – I could help with that!
Blessings to St. John’s from Texas!

Lynda,
Thank you for your comment! I am Lauren, the website manager. I have had a chance to work with Kevin, getting his computer set up and will be working with him in the near future, as he decides what he wants to put on the website regarding Youth Ministry. I can already tell he is a wonderful addition to our congregation and will be a blessing to many lives in the Napa and St. John’s community! As a mom of young adults, I know how challenging it is to let our kids go. But I have also seen how wonderful it is to watch them blossom into the adults God has led them to be! You have done an amazing job of raising Kevin. I know you must be so very proud!
Blessings to your family from Napa!!
