This Week’s Memory Verse
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. ~Ephesians 4:1-2
This Sunday: We are called to live “godly” lives, to be more like Jesus in our thoughts, words, and deeds. But what does this mean? What is God like? What is the godly, “Jesus” character to which we aspire? We continue with our series on the attributes of God, focusing primarily on those character attributes that God would work in us, so that, as Paul wrote to the Corinthians, we might be “Transformed into His Image Our final attribute in our series is a tough one. Our God is a suffering God. We worship a God who entered into the brokenness of this world, who took on himself the consequences of the fall and our sin. And He suffered. For the world. For us. This has been a week where the brokenness of our fallen world has been staring us in the face, and shifting under our feet. But our God is with us, our suffering God, suffering alongside us. To God alone be all the glory!
