This Week’s Memory Verse
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ~Hebrews 12:1-2
As We Gather
The season of Advent is about waiting in hope for the coming of the Savior. We commemorate our Savior’s birth over 2000 years ago. We celebrate His coming and dwelling among us today. We anticipate with hope His appearance in glory in the resurrection.
Our worship series for Advent and Christmas will explore the answer to the question “Who is Jesus?” by focusing on the genealogy of Mary’s son as it is given to us in the beginning of the Gospel of Matthew 1:1-17. Each week points us to a different aspect of His identity and the blessings that identity brings as we follow Him. Today we look at Jesus as the Son of Mary. What does this mean for us today?
Old Testament Isaiah 7:1-14
