Worship for October 18: “Citizens of Heaven, Citizens on Earth”
Jesus told Pontius Pilate that His kingdom is not of this world. Paul reminded his readers that they are citizens of heaven. But we live as citizens on earth, part of an earthly nation. Loving our neighbor includes seeking the good of the nation in which we live. What does this mean for us as Christians in our nation today, especially as our divided nation approaches an election? How do we respond, speak, live, act and pray as Christians who are citizens of heaven while citizens on earth?
This Sunday’s service will be a communion service. For more information, please go to the streaming page on the website. (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/

Wednesday Night Worship
“Do Not Worry”
Jesus calls us not to worry because the Father is caring for us. Instead, we are to seek first His kingdom of righteousness. What does this mean? We continue our study of the Gospel of Matthew as we continue through the Sermon on the Mount. This weeks we look at Matthew 6:25-34. To join in, click here at 7:00 PM on October 21. https://www.youtube.com/user/stjohnsnapaca/live

Podcast: The Big Book of New Testament Questions and Answers – narrated by Sarah Kramer
Have you ever wondered, “What does this verse mean?” or “How do I explain this part of the Bible to a non-Christian friend?” Check out this podcast which explores New Testament Q&As collected by Dr. Michael Eschelbach, a theology professor (formerly at Concordia University Chicago, now at CU Irvine), from his students. The first 12 episodes focus on Galatians, with more books to come!
And…if the voice sounds familiar, that’s because St. John’s member Sarah Kramer is the narrator! Please subscribe to the podcast (Apple, Google, Spotify, and more!) to be notified when a new episode is released. Please also rate and review the podcast – the more listeners it has, the more episodes they will make!
Can’t wait? Do you want all the answers now? You can also purchase the book, The Big Book of New Testament Questions and Answers, in paperback or ebook format. There’s more info at www.CPH.org .
This is a great resource to help us grow in our faith and knowledge of Scripture and to engage in discussions with fellow Christians and non-believers alike. Enjoy and share!
