This Week’s Memory Verse
Give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
As We Gather
What are you thankful for? What are you thanking God for today? This is the theme of our worship series for the month of November. For four Sundays in November, we will be focusing on gratitude to the Lord for His gifts. Think of this series as “advent” for Thanksgiving. Each Sunday, we will focus on a different biblical character who is a model of thankfulness. We will see in that person’s story a call to be thankful to God in our own lives.
Sunday, we focus on the people around us, our community, our family, our friends. These relationships are also gifts from God, and we rightly give Him thanks for them! Today we consider Paul and his attitude of gratitude regarding the people around him.
On Sunday, we also celebrate the last Sunday of the Church Year, Christ the King Sunday. We celebrate that Christ is King over all!
First Reading Isaiah 12:1-6
Psalm 118:15-21
Second Reading Ephesians 1:15-16

Social Media at St. John’s… St. John’s and its ministries stay in contact with the community in many ways, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our own websites. It takes a lot of effort to keep the websites up to date and to keep the communication current and flowing on social media. The social media team is all volunteer and we could use a few more tech-savvy people to help us out. If you are a fan of social media and would like to help us communicate to our members, parents, students, and community, we could use your help. Contact us by email: sjlcsocialmedia@gmail.com
Also, if you have something you’d like to see us talk about or promote on social media, please use the same contact info.
