Sunday Bible Class
Abortion: What does the Bible Say?
This Sunday, May 29, Pastor Mike’s Bible Class will explore what God’s Word says about abortion, life inside the womb, and our bodies. Christians may have different views regarding what the government should do and different opinions on how Christians and churches should speak about it in the secular society. But as Christians, all of our thoughts, actions, and words take as their starting point what God has clearly revealed in His Word. What does this mean as we seek to follow Jesus. We will meet in Room 10 at 11:00 AM.
Joining Jesus
Navigation Zoom with Rev. Greg Finke on June 9
Over the next several months, each of us will have the chance to take part in a “Navigation Zoom” with Rev. Greg Finke. The follow up Navigation Zooms are designed to help us receive the encouragement, coaching, and accountability we need to help us “navigate” the process of joining Jesus throughout the next six months.
The first St. John’s Navigation Zoom will be on Thursday evening, June 9, at 6:30 PM. Over the next several months, we will continue to offer these zoom session on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm. The Zoom session will last between 40-45 minutes.
Rev. Finke will take a few minutes at the beginning to encourage and invite stories of what has been happening in our lives on mission. He will then provide coaching and lead a discussion on the next steps for the weeks ahead. The Navigation Zooms will be recorded so those who are absent can catch up at a later time.
Watch for the link to the Navigation Zoom in next week’s E-Vine.
From the President of the Texas District (LCMS)
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 21:5)
Dear fellow servants of Jesus,
On this eve of the Ascension of our Lord, we hold to the promise of our returning Savior who will make all things new. We groan in the wake of the devastating loss in Uvalde, Texas, and we pray, “Come, Lord Jesus!”
Your prayers have been and continue to be of the utmost importance as we draw near to the throne of grace with confidence, finding mercy and grace to help in times of need (Hebrews 4:16). The people of Uvalde are being blessed and sustained by your prayers.
