This Sunday: “The Cross-Shaped Life”
Out next “Road Hazard” has to do with the cross. No, the cross itself is not a road hazard. It is our salvation. The Road Hazard is failing to take to heart that the cross is also the shape of our lives. James and John approached Jesus with the request to be honored by Him, seated at His left and right. But Jesus points out that greatness in the Kingdom of God is cross-shaped. In the Kingdom, greatness is seen in serving others, instead of being served by others.
Live Stream worship begins at 9:30 AM. Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ to download the handout, and to link to the live stream itself. We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: https://www.facebook.com/sjlcnapa

Lent Midweek Service March 24: “God of the Cross”
Our Lent Midweek series is “God of the Cross.” The cross is the primary Christian symbol. Why is it so important? What does the cross reveal about our God?
The cross shows us our God as a suffering God. Our God did not remain detached from the suffering of the world. On the contrary, He came into this world, became fully vulnerable to its brokenness and suffering. But not only the suffering that comes to all humans; as our Savior, He took onto Himself all suffering.
Our Lent Midweek Services will live stream at 7:00 PM on Wednesdays. Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ to download the handout, and to link to the live stream itself. We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: https://www.facebook.com/sjlcnapa
Lent Wrist Bands
We are making available silicone wrist-bands for the Lenten season. These wrist-bands are purple, the liturgical color for Lent, as a reminder of repentance. They contain the word “Forgiven” along with two crosses as a reminder of the cross and the gift of forgiveness that we have in Christ. The wrist-bands come in three sizes: Adult, youth, and toddler. We encourage you to wear your “Forgiven” wrist-band throughout the season of Lent as a reminder of repentance and forgiveness in the cross.
They can be picked up in the Church Office.

A Health Update From Pastor Mark
Please continue to keep Pastor Mark in your prayers, that God bless his health and recovery. The pathology report indicated that the mass that was removed was malignant, but the doctors are very optimistic about the path forward.
