Baptism of Our Lord
“Who You Say I Am”
January 10, 2021
As We Gather
We frequently hear that in order to find out who we really are, our true identity, we need to look deeply within ourselves. True fulfillment in life comes from living out of what we find on this inward journey. But is this truth? God’s truth? God reveals in His Word that our true identity is found in Christ. We are who He says we are. Our purpose is what He has revealed. Our calling is what comes from Him and leads back to Him.
We commemorate the Baptism of our Lord and we remember and commemorate our own Baptisms, in which God gave us an identity in Him, along with a name and a kingdom. What does it mean to live in this identity?
Worship will be live stream at 9:30 AM. Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ to download the handout, and to link to the live stream itself. We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: https://www.facebook.com/sjlcnapa

Wednesday Night Worship
“If You Are Willing”
Wednesday Night Worship resumes on January 13 at 7:00 pm as we continue our study of the Gospel of Matthew. We pick up with Matthew 8:1-4 and the healing of a leper. When asked, Jesus said He was willing to heal the man. What does this healing mean? Is He willing to heal today? What does that mean when we are dealing with illnesses, from cancer to COVID? EPIPHANY
Epiphany is about the manifestation of Jesus Christ. This season focuses on Christ revealing His divinity and His saving plan for the nations, as the Light of the World invading darkness.
