Paul’s Letter to the Colossians
“The Supremacy of Christ”
January 24, 2021
As We Gather
It is believed that Colossians 1:15 -20 is an early Christian hymn adapted or written by the Apostle Paul as he assures the Colossians of who Christ is and what He has done for their salvation. Paul speaks of Christ’s supremacy in creation in the first half of the hymn and Christ’s supremacy in redemption in the second half. These verses contain one doctrinal statement after another about Christ and His authority. So how do we respond? We worship. In awe we praise and “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
Worship will be live stream at 9:30 AM. Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ to download the handout, and to link to the live stream itself. We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: https://www.facebook.com/sjlcnapa

February
Youth ministry the past number of months has looked vastly different than I or anybody ever expected. Even still, God has shown His goodness in many ways throughout the challenging times. Zoom has become a part of our daily lives and given us the opportunity to gather together for fellowship, learning, and fun. The Youth Ministry at St. John’s will continue to meet virtually for the foreseeable future as we aim to do our part in keeping people healthy. If you would like any information about a specific ministry or how to get connected please contact Kevin Mathison.
Surge: We will have Surge events on the 2nd, 9th, & 23rd from 6-7pm.
Confirmation: We have just one learning event before Lent scheduled for February 3rd from 7-8pm.
