New Year, Same Promises
“God’s Promise of Growth”
February 12, 2023
Please CLICK HERE to download the service notes.
As We Gather
Our Epiphany worship series is focusing on God’s enduring promises as we enter a new year with all of its changes. We find comfort, hope and strength that God’s promises are sure. Today we reflect on God’s promise of growth. God promises to be at work in our lives that we may grow spiritually, becoming more like Christ, for His glory and to be a blessing to others. But how does this come about? Today we look at spiritual growth, what it is and how God works it in our lives.
We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: CLICK HERE .
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 9:30 AM. Please CLICK HERE to download the link to the live-stream itself.
February 22 is Ash Wednesday
Our Ash Wednesday service will be at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary. This service will include Communion and the Imposition of Ashes. Please come also for the Soup Supper in the Parish Hall at 6:00 PM.
Lent Midweek Series
Forgive: Why Should We and How Can We?
Jesus calls us to forgive one another as we have been forgiven. In The Lord’s Prayer, He turns that around and instructs us to ask to be forgiven in the same way we forgive others. What is very clear is that it is very important to the Lord that His followers lead lives of mercy and forgiveness in our dealings with others. But how do we do this? Doesn’t forgiveness let people off the hook? What if I don’t feel like forgiving? Does God really expect me to forgive everyone?
The series begins on Ash Wednesday as we look at the parable of the unmerciful servant (Matthew 18:21-35). This parable illustrates the reason for the Lord’s call to forgive. We who have been forgiven so much are called to forgive the sins committed against us.
