Second Sunday in Advent
“The Gift of Peace”

As We Gather
Our Lord Jesus is coming, bearing real gifts, profoundly important gifts. He came that first Christmas to win forgiveness and give all the gifts that come with it: hope, peace, joy, love. He is coming again at the end of this world to give the gift of resurrection to eternal life. In the season of Advent, we connect Christ’s first coming with His second coming. We rejoice in all the unconditional gifts He gives.
On Sunday, we celebrate the gift of peace. Because of the coming of the Prince of Peace, we have peace beyond anything that this world can give. May God bless each of us with His peace today!
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 9:30 AM. Please CLICK HERE to download the handout, and to link to the live-stream itself.

Advent Midweek Service
“Health and Healing”
December 8, 2021
Please CLICK HERE to download the service notes. (Available soon)
As We Gather
Jesus is the Great Physician. That title doesn’t just refer to the number of people that He healed, or the great compassion that He showed for those afflicted. It also points to one of the most beautiful blessings of His mission: The complete healing in the resurrection. In this life, we pray for healing for all afflictions, great and small. But we do so knowing, whether we receive healing in this life or not, that we live the certain hope of the complete healing of the resurrection. So we pray in Advent and always, “Come Lord Jesus!”
Live-stream and in-person worship begin at 7:00 PM. Please CLICK HERE to link to the live-stream. We will be streaming on our Facebook Page as well: CLICK HERE

Mission Farm News
CanDo’s Give!Guide 2021 is off and running. The purpose of the Give!Guide campaign, which runs from Nov. 30 through Dec. 31, is to encourage donations in support of non-profit organizations that serve the Napa Community . . . organizations like our own St. John’s Lutheran Mission Farm! The Give!Guide makes it easy to make a contribution on line, or if you wish, you can mail a check ($10 minimum). Check out Give!Guide’s website (www.CanDoGiveGuide.org) and see an array of non-profits, some 50+. You can support as many as you wish. Check out the website, then check us out, and while you are there why not make a donation(s)? While you can make donations in support of our Farm at any time of the year through our regular offering system, I encourage you to make a gift now through the Give!Guide campaign. The real-time posting of the donations totals, especially at the early stage of the campaign, encourages other gifts.. Thank you in advance — Farmer Ted.

Youth News
Some would say this is the most wonderful time of the year! In Youth Ministry we may be building a strong case for that. December is a fun time filled with sugar, service, Christmas parties, and of course the birth of Jesus! Please keep each one of our youth and their families in your prayers this Christmas season. Children’s Church Update for Parents
Thank you to all of our Children’s Church Leaders! I believe that all is going well and I have witnessed some great fun happening with the kids too!
The lessons have been reinforcing that God is always with us and He provides us with what we need! We have been learning from the Bible about
how this was true for Moses too!
Some teachers like to provide a simple snack for the kids during Children’s Church so we need to know if your child has any allergies that we should be aware of. Please email me back if there are any concerns you have for your child. I pray your Thanksgiving is full of blessings with your family and friends. (jking@stjohnsnapa.org)
