This Week’s Memory Verse
May His name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. All nations will be blessed through Him, and they will call Him blessed. ~Psalm 72:17
As We Gather
The Psalms are the most enduring expressions of the prayers, petitions and praise of the people of God, some having been in use for over 3000 years. But the Psalms are not just a testimony of the faith of the saints of the past; they are given to us to shape and give voice to our faith today.
In Psalm 73, Asaph confesses that he has envied the wicked. They seem to get away with their godlessness. But when he entered the sanctuary of God, his perspective was renewed. From an eternal perspective, there is nothing about the wicked to envy. Instead, Asaph declares that God is his portion and strength. May God renew our outlook today, as He strengthens us to walk by faith.
