In-Person Worship Update
A task force for preparing for in-person worship has met via zoom twice this week. The members of this group are Ken and Michelle Arnold, Dove Bain, Betsy Gewirz, Lori Gutierrez, Lois Husted, Tim and Christy Kramer, Gary Virkus, Natalie Yoder, and Pastor Mark. It has been decided that it will be safer and more practical for worship to be held in the sanctuary rather than outside in the Faith Chapel. Every summer the sanctuary is thoroughly cleaned and the floor is stripped and waxed. With this being done before resuming in-person worship our projected start date is June 28.
The task force is currently making decisions to provide the safest possible environment to worship. The congregation will be informed of the procedures and changes that will be done to facilitate this. Weekly updates will be printed in the E-vine. Also watch for a brief survey in the next couple of days.

Streaming Worship for June 7: Trinity Sunday
Trinity Sunday celebrates the majesty and wonder of the one God who is three Persons. In Psalm 8 David describes that majesty in terms of the relationship between God and humanity. We humans don’t even compare to the greatness of the LORD, and at the same time because of His image, we are just a little lower than Him and made rulers over the rest of creation to represent Him as we live out that responsibility. The psalmist marvels over the wonder of this and the majesty of God.
Sadly, the result of the fall into sin is that by nature we no longer image God, but instead we image Satan. By nature we are enemies of God and try to be gods ourselves. Our thoughts, words, and deeds often do not reflect the true humans we were created to be. The wonder of it all is that the Father in His mercy sent His Son to become truly human for our salvation. By the Spirit’s power, we are recreated in Christ to become the true humans God created us to be.
Please go to this page (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/) for information regarding the services and to link to the live stream itself. For all our services, we encourage you to download the worship handout prior to the service. The handout contains the words to the hymns and songs, as well as the readings, and the other components of the service. The handout also describes how to worship the Lord with your offering.

Wednesday Night Worship on June 10
We are continuing our walk through the Gospel of Matthew, seeking to grow in understanding God’s Word and what it means in our lives today. On June 10, we’ll be looking at Matthew 3:13-17, the Baptism of Jesus. Our theme is “To Fulfill All Righteousness.” What is the meaning of the Baptism of Jesus, and what does it say about our identity as children of God today?
