“They Will All Know Me” (Jeremiah 31:23-32:15)

What struck me in this passage is God’s description of the new covenant. These very familiar words from Jeremiah 31 speak of God’s promise to restore His relationship with His people, and to establish a covenant relationship them. He will forgive them, put his law in their hearts, and be God to them forever.
This description depicts what God desires for us. And the part that struck me today is that in the full expression of the new covenant, we won’t be striving to know the Lord, for we will all know Him.
God wants to be known by us. For reasons known now only to Him, our knowledge of our God is frustratingly small. He has revealed his heart and love in Jesus Christ, but there is still so much that we do not know, especially the unfolding of His plans in the world. But God desires to be known, and one of the key features of the New Covenant, which will be fully realized in the New Creation, is to know God fully.
So my prayer today is to know God more fully. I am praying that I may come to know God more fully through His Word, and through a life of seeking to follow Him and to participating in what He is doing in the world around me.
What is the Word leading you to pray about today?
