“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
(Matthew 25:40)
This week, we’re focusing especially on reasons to be thankful in all circumstances. Today I am giving thanks to God for all those who care for the hurting.
What a blessing it is when we are going through hard times to have people around us who care and try to be helpful. I believe this is one of the ways in which God’s love touches and comforts us in those times.
Sometimes the ones who care for the hurting do so as part of their vocation: a pastor or church worker, a counselor, health care worker, etc. But often it is simply the people around us who are blessed with compassion and mercy, and then go out of their way to walk with us through those hard times.
Who has helped you in your time of need? Who has always been there? Today is about giving thanks to God for these people.
What are you thankful for today?
