As was announced this past Sunday, a water pipe broke in our preschool during the night on October 29/30. As a result, the preschool was flooded. The preschool was closed last week while cleanup work began. The repairs will take several weeks and will include replacing the floor and some of the drywall, as well as much of the equipment. This will continue for the next several weeks, possibly through the rest of the calendar year.
While the cleanup and repair is taking place, the Preschool has moved to Room 10, the Youth Director’s Office (currently vacant), and the library (on a limited basis). State licensing has approved this temporary move of our preschool. I commend our Preschool Staff, Preschool Director Janis King, and Principal Joel Wahlers for the tremendous amount of work last week in making this happen, and securing this approval.
As a result, every other activity scheduled for Room 10 is being moved to alternate locations on our campus. For instance, Bible studies have moved to the sanctuary or one of the classrooms. The large print ministry has moved to the sanctuary. PALS (after-school care) has moved to one of the classroom. School music has moved to the sanctuary. This is an opportunity for the entire ministry to work together in order to ensure that all of our ministries continue while we are limited for space.
We are seeking to make sure that all groups using Room 10 are aware of this change. If you have questions about the location of an upcoming event, please contact the church office, or go to the St. John’s Facilities Calendar online.
