1 Chronicles 16:1-36

What struck me today in this passage is the importance of music in the worship life of Israel. David took a personal interest in this aspect of the Levites’ service. He appointed the leaders, and also gave them songs to sing. Portions of Psalms 96, 105 and 106 are quoted as an example of the type of praise that David called on Asaph and the others to offer the Lord.
This led me to think about all the ways in which we use music in the service of the Lord at St. John’s. Our organist and worship band, the youth worship band, the sanctuary choir and other soloists, along with all of the school groups that praise the Lord with music.
So in my prayers today I am remembering those people, giving God thanks for the blessing of having so many people taking part in worship in this way. I am also praying for all of these musicians and singers today, that God bless them in their service, and give them joy in their worship.
What is the Word leading you to pray about today?
