I’ll Pray For You
How do we pray for others? Often we think of praying for others when they are facing some crisis, health or financial or relational. And it is good to pray for God’s blessing, strength and presence in these trials. But is there more we can be praying for?
Our Sunday worship series this Lent with focus on prayer, one of the Marks of Discipleship (Constant in Prayer). In fact our focus is even narrower than prayer in general. We will focus on praying for others, intercessory prayer.
One of the hallmarks of the letters of the apostle Paul is his prayers for the churches under his care. Paul regularly refers to his prayers for his brothers and sisters in Christ, often providing detailed descriptions of what exactly he is praying for.
Our worship series this Lent will focus on the prayers of Paul for others. We will explore what was going on that prompted his prayers, and what were the things that he was led to pray for. And then we will apply these insights to our lives today. It is our goal that this study of Paul’s prayers will inform, deepen, strengthen, and bless our prayers for others in our lives today.
