This Week’s Memory Verse
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” ~Mark 10:45
As We Gather
Many Bible are printed (or appear online) with the words of Jesus in red. This is a way to draw attention to the voice of our Savior. But our Lord would have us not only reading or hearing His words. He wants us to take them to heart, to integrate them in our lives, and to put them into practice.
On Sunday, we enter the “giving” week of the Red Letter Challenge. We follow a generous God who gives freely to all. The word “grace” means gift, and so when we say we are saved by grace, we are saying that we are saved as a gift. As followers of this generous God, we are called to be generous people. How is God calling us to be “giving” people this week?
First Reading 1 Chronicles 29:10-20
Psalm 103:1-12
Second Reading 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
Gospel Matthew 6:19-24

Social Media at St. John’s… St. John’s and its ministries stay in contact with the community in many ways, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and our own websites. It takes a lot of effort to keep the websites up to date and to keep the communication current and flowing on social media. The social media team is all volunteer and we could use a few more tech-savvy people to help us out. If you are a fan of social media and would like to help us communicate to our members, parents, students, and community, we could use your help. Contact us by email: sjlcsocialmedia@gmail.com
Also, if you have something you’d like to see us talk about or promote on social media, please use the same contact info.
School Campus Security – As part of our Campus Security Plan, we have implemented a security sign-in procedure during the school day. You can sign in either in the church or school office.
