This Week’s Memory Verse
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. ~1 Corinthians 10:13
As We Gather
Paul concludes his discussion of idolatry with very practical guidance for the Corinthians. Cutting through it all is his call that in navigating this tricky issue, their goal is to glorify God, then to look to the good of others. He calls them away from self-serving and self-interest, and instead to imitate Christ, who glorified the Father by laying down His life for all.
Old Testament Isaiah 44:9-23
New Testament 1 Corinthians 10:14-11:1
Gospel Matthew 19:16-26

When We Need God’s Love Most: When do we need God’s love most? Of course we need that love every second of our lives. But at times God’s love is especially precious to us, times when: we lose a loved one; life becomes so confusing that we do not know where to turn; we are dealing with a chronic illness; or life just becomes meaningless and depression sets in. At times like these, it is very important to have someone who cares. Our congregation has trained seven lay people, Stephen Ministers who offer a ministry of Christian caring for those in need. To request the ministry of a Stephen Minister, contact Pastor Mark email@example.com
