Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6
As We Gather
This Lent, we are invited to go on the 40 day journey once again. Although we will be reading the same devotions and pursuing the same challenges, our Sunday worship will take a different direction, a Lent direction. Discipleship is all about following and imitating Jesus. So we will focus on Jesus as He approaches the cross, and we will see in Him the blessing and challenge of the five targets of the Red Letter Challenge: Being, Forgiving, Serving, Giving, Going. Sunday’s focus is “Forgiving.” Because of the cross of Christ, free forgiveness is available to all as a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in His Son Jesus Christ. Having received this gracious gift, how then do we live among each other? Jesus put the answer as one of the petitions in the prayer He taught us: “Forgive us our trespasses and we forgive those who trespass against us.” We forgive as we have been forgiven.
