Worship for July 19: David and Saul, Part 1
Whose kingdom is it? That’s the question Saul is struggling with as he sees David become more popular and more loved. Saul’s jealousy begins to lead him down destructive paths as he fears the loss of his kingdom. But whose kingdom is it? The same question can be asked of us as we struggle with frustration, disappointment and anger about life not going the way we think it should. But whose life is it? Whose are we? Whose kingdom is it anyway? The text today leads us to take to heart what we pray for when we pray “Thy Kingdom Come.”

Worship at Home Picture Parade!
It’s time for another picture parade! For Palm Sunday this year we shared pictures of ourselves with our palm branches. For Maundy Thursday, we shared pictures of our home Communion setup. For Easter we shared pictures of ourselves with Easter flowers. These were fun ways to see each other and be reminded that while apart, we are still one body.
Now it’s time to do it again. Since we are all worshiping at home once again, what we would like is a picture of you, your family with your home online worship setup. Send us a picture of you or your family gathered for worship at home. Pull up the worship stream YouTube link on your phone, pad, computer or TV and take a picture of yourself with it, or of your family.
Please send these pictures be Saturday, July 25 and we’ll share them in worship on July 26. Send your pictures to Pastor Mike (pastormike@stjohnslutheran.net or text to 707.738.4448).
