Correction: Worship on April 1 is at 7:00 PM
Yesterday’s e-vine mistakenly listed the worship time tomorrow evening as 7:30. That was not an April fool. It was a mistake. Worship will be at our usual evening worship time of 7:00 PM. The Live Stream will start at 6:50 PM. Sorry for the confusion!
Here is the corrected information on Worship:
Lent Service April 1: Christ our Passover at 7:00 PM
We had planned to have a Passover Seder this Wednesday as our Lent Midweek service. That event has been postponed until next year during Lent.
But we will still be focusing on the meaning of the Passover this Wednesday. The Passover is the defining event for the people of God before the coming of Christ. Death passed over the homes marked by the blood of the lamb, leading to their release from bondage in Egypt. The people of God were to commemorate this event by a special meal in their homes. This event, and its annual celebration pointed ahead to the coming of Christ, the Lamb of God, by whose blood we are redeemed. Christ has given his church a new Passover meal, the Lord’s Supper, in which we commemorate and receive the blessings of the Lamb every time we gather to celebrate it.
Join us for Live Stream Home Based Worship this Wednesday at 7:00. (https://stjohnslutheran.net/live-streaming-worship-at-st-johns/ The Live Stream will start at 6:50. You can come early and through the Live Chat feed greet others who are coming to worship, bless them with the Lord’s peace, and check on how folks are doing. We’ll leave the stream open for 10 minutes after the services as well for the same purpose.)
The Lord’s Supper for the Sheltered At Home Online Church
At the end of the service this Wednesday, we will be looking at our plans to celebrate a Live Stream Home Based communion service on Maundy Thursday, April 9. Tune in for more details. There will be opportunity for questions and answers.
